Haven't they been going on for ages that we don't have any money to spend though?

Sorry if already stated but my son has heard that Byram is a West Ham supporter. So, fingers crossed that he signs for us.

Re: Sam Byram
He was born in Thurrock, before moving up north as a kid, so that may well be true.

Yeah he's a hammers fan

Re: Sam Byram
His family moved to Leeds when he was one. How do we know he is a Hammers fan? He's basically spent all his life up North

Re: Sam Byram
I guess IF his family were all West Ham there's a good chance he might have followed suit even if he did move up north from a young age.

As for the transfer, even if we don't have a pot to piss in this month, can we not do a deal with them now to take him in the summer? We did that with Hendrie last January didn't we?

ChesterRd 1:50 Mon Jan 4
Re: Sam Byram
You can't do anything official as it's within the same FA. We got Hendrie from Scotland so could do the deal in Jan.

Just been told he was conceived after a night out at the CT, so must be a hammer :-)

Hey, weren't we all.

Re: Sam Byram
Presumably we could do the deal and loan him back to Leeds for the season thus keeping him off the wage bill for FFP?

Would appeal to Leeds better than losing him now... be interesting to see if he plays in the Cup at the weekend.

Re: Sam Byram
he is not a great defender (similar to jenks) so i'm not convinced.
yes the modern game needs a full back to attack, but his no1 job is to defend.

Re: Sam Byram
ludo

assume he'd want a big payrise though if signing for a prem club

which Leeds may not be willing to take on

Re: Sam Byram
I'd prefer Lewis COOK if we're taking anyone from them.

Everton have a 4m bid accepted. Come on Davids, lets match the bid and promise him first team football

I'm with Toad 4m is peanuts.

I'm surprised nobody else is interested at £4 mill.

Hearney 10:21 Thu Jan 14
Re: Sam Byram
We've put in a £3.7 million bid (same as Everton) which has been accepted.

Up to the player now.

This is according to agent Barry Silkman.

It's all over Twitter, so must be true
